02/05/2006 - Try the Honda Off-road Experience!

IF YOU WANT the exhilaration of riding a motorcycle off-road, away from the dangers of the road and other road users, then the Honda Off-road Experience is for you!

It gives you the ideal opportunity to ride off-road without the need for owning your own bike or kit. Off-road riding is perfect for honing your skills all-year round Summer or Winter, rain or shine – falling off was never so much fun!

Everything you need to ride is supplied on the day: the bike, lid, boots, clothing and petrol is all covered in the cost. So is the expert tuition which ensures you have a day to remember. The team of instructors go at your pace, from showing you the basic controls to teaching you techniques out on the trail. But be warned, you could just get hooked on off-roading as a result of the day!

The machinery available is the latest Honda off-road tackle, from the CRF100 learner machines through to the new CRF250X and CRF450X four-stroke moto cross bikes.

All the bikes are three months old or younger and there’s always plenty on hand so you can try each and every one and maximize your time on the bike!

Sheridan ‘Shed’ Millwood runs the school and he says: “We use a mixture of the softer elements of moto cross circuits along with open trails, ditches and woodland sections. Weather and ground conditions allowing, a complete trail is normally between 2-3Km long, meaning that you really get the most from your riding time. No-one goes home without a smile on their face!”

To be eligible for the course you need to be 18-years-old but you don’t need to have a motorcycle licence – all the Honda Off-road Experience asks is that you’re familiar with the operation of a geared motorcycle and have ridden one in the previous five years and then you’re free to ride!

There are four selected venues in the north and south of the country as well as a centre in the Midlands, and there’s a number of special offers currently available.

If you book between five and nine spaces then you get one of them free. Alternatively, book ten or eleven spaces and you get two free.

To book call 0871 2003250 (9am to 5pm Monday to Friday) or e-mail mcnoffroad@cashonda.com

Note: Public liability insurance is covered as well as bike and kit damage, but personal injury is at participants’ own risk. You also need to ensure that you haven’t had any major health issues in the previous five years.
