Hanspree Honda’s James Toseland leads the World Superbike championship on his CBR1000RR Fireblade.
At the time of writing after two of 13 rounds, the 26-year-old leads Suzuki’s Max Biaggi by 16 points. Toseland pulled away from the Italian in the title race with a fine second and first place at the recent Australian round at Phillip Island. He said: "From the first two rounds I’ve had two wins and two second places. This is the sort of consistency I want to keep up because if I keep having results like that then I’m the new World Champion!"
But current champ Troy Bayliss has made a return to form with a first and a second place at his home track, so he’ll be tough to beat. James’ team-mate Roberto Rolfo is still getting to grips with the four-cylinder Fireblade after a season on a V-twin, scoring 11th and 10th positions on his Hanspree Honda.
The next round takes place at Donington Park on April 1st.
